It is TNB’s mission to educate the community on topics that center the identities of Black and Brown people around the world. Programming includes story time reads for children, book club discussions, community-led panels, author signings, short lectures and more.

It is TNB’s mission to inspire the community through its reading materials, product offerings and guests. The store’s retail function will provide opportunities for local makers to monetize and expose the public to their offerings. The selection of Black and Brown leaders, educators, healers, and experts will provide the South Side community with inspiration and knowledge that reflects its residents.

It is TNB’s responsibility to support the community in which it resides. Programming includes quarterly food drives, free Saturday breakfast, Summer Free Lunch, mutual aid funding, clothing drives, community service opportunities, and more.
